The Green City Action Plan of Ganja City

The city of Ganja joined the Green Cities Program of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) as the first pilot city in Azerbaijan. Preparation of “Green City Action Plan” for the selected city is the basis of this Program. The main goal of the Action Plan is to help the city solve environmental issues through investments and other measures to support the transition to a “green” future. Ganja GCAP strategic vision covers a period of 15 years. During this period, it will be possible to improve the potential of the industry by cleaning polluted areas in Ganja, increasing energy efficiency by using smart technologies, and solving environmental problems. The GCAP will contribute to the creation of high-quality and perfectly coordinated green areas, the creation of a new public transport network, drinking water and wastewater infrastructure, as well as the improvement of public services such as solid waste management. The center is a local project coordinator for this project.
